'Life’s Rich Mix'(1st Book)

Vinson  Chard's first book "Life's Rich Mix" tells of his time working in industry. Initially during the summer months between

1969 and 1973 when he worked in the local steelworks in order to supplement his grant while studying at College. Also

working one summer in the DHSS cooped up in a small office with Myfanwy Morgan who continually but accidentally sets the           waste paper bin alight, forcing Vinson to indulge in 'Teach Yourself Fire Fighting Skills.'

Stories of the high jinx some of the young workforce in the steelworks indulged in, and how he almost did not survive his baptism

of fire, working in such a dangerous environment.

Vinson also tells of his first full time employment in a cardboard box manufacturers and how he indulged in a relationship with         his young, married female assistant.

The middle part of the book Tells of his time working in an oil refinery with an attractive female assistant who causes all sorts       of disruption within the refinery workforce. It is during this time Vinson meets his first wife.

The final years of the decade tells of Vinson's time working in an electroplating plant with lots of dangers and the eccentric             characters who work there.

'Toxic Mayhem'(2nd Book)

"Toxic Mayhem," the second book written by Vinson Chard tells of his time working as a Chemical Engineer/ Chemist in the

hazardous waste industry during the early 90’s. It begins with the problems involved working in an unwanted waste treatment         plant located in the middle of a prestigious horticultural and landscaping project and exhibition, generating demonstrations

and various lockouts accompanied by extremely adverse, hostile publicity.

Being prohibited from working at the treatment plant, Vinson’s employers decide to make use of his knowledge of the                       hazardous  waste industry, sending him to different locations throughout the UK. The stories are of his adventures, or more             appropriately, his hazardous and often humorous misadventures while on these excursions, of more colourful characters he             meets along the way, including incidents, such as being shown some of the seedier areas of a Yorkshire city.

There are also stories of political intrigue at boardroom level, culminating in company directors brawling in a prestigious                 Cardiff hotel on rugby International Day and others along with  the author being forced to associate with a duplicitous                       aristocrat who would sell his own grandmother to white slavers if enough money could be made out of the transaction.

Altogether, an eclectic mix of true stories and characters, related with Vinson’s usual anecdotal humour.

Later in his career, Vinson becomes employed by a cosmetics company run by an eccentric owner who dresses outlandishly with his               bizarre product requirements, causing the staff numerous technical and customer problems, such as customer faces turning bright blue           because of his odd requests.

To escape this peculiar, mind boggling, working environment, for a short time, Vinson takes a job as a bus driver in Swansea, a South

Wales City. With some strange tales of working with the public.
